This is just a partial list, if you have anything you think the artroom could use, please let me know. (Thank you in advance!)
Classroom Donation Idea #1: Any kind of paper – Art classes need paper, and lots of it. But it doesn’t just have to be standard white paper. Any kind will be greatly appreciated – scrapbook paper, notebook paper, origami paper, printer paper, wallpaper, construction paper, posterboard, cardboard and more.
Classroom Donation Idea #2: Old (appropriate) magazines or newspapers – Magazines, catalogs and newspapers can be used in hundreds (or thousands) of projects in an Art class – for collage, sculpture and more. Simply make sure – before you give them – that the materials are of an appropriate nature for school; for example, make sure there are no lingerie ads stuffed inside the newspapers.
Classroom Donation Idea #3: Writing/drawing utensils – Pencils, crayons, markers, colored pencils, pastels and others. These materials are consumable and go quickly in an Art room.
Classroom Donation Idea #4: Storage containers – Storage containers are always in demand; cheap plastic shoeboxes or other plastic storage containers are a wonderful donation idea.
Classroom Donation Idea #5: Tissues, paper plates, foam plates, paper towels – We use tons! The plates for painting and collages, and the tissues for runny noses.
Classroom Donation Idea #6: Any kind of fabric or yarn – Have fabric scraps you’ve never got around to using? Have some oddly-colored spools of yarn? Any pattern or color of fabric, textiles or yarn can be donated to the Art room.
Classroom Donation Idea #7: Classroom Donation Idea #8: Beads – We use beads of all shapes, sizes and colors have many uses in an Art room.
Classroom Donation Idea #9: Telephone wire – the multi-colored, wire covered type that we use for wire sculpture.
Classroom Donation Idea #10: Adhesives – Duct tape, masking tape, white glue, glue sticks, sticky-tack, pushpins/thumbtacks, you name the adhesive, and the room is probably need of it.
